Kent is proud to be a Chevening partner, and offers three partner scholarships, in addition to the standard Chevening Scholarships.

The University of Kent welcomes applications from all Chevening-eligible countries for any one-year taught master’s degree based at our UK campuses. In the 2022-23 academic year, 12 Chevening Scholars studied at Kent.

Kent celebrates its Chevening Scholars, inviting them to VIP events such as a visit to the Lord Mayor of Canterbury.

Hear from our Chevening Scholars

Lebani Mazhani is from Botswana and is studying a Master’s in Medical Law and Ethics.

“Kent’s programme was different to the others I found, with modules on areas such as poverty, health, and social justice which really appealed to me. When I secured the scholarship, I looked at Kent’s location and was pleased to see that it was near London. I know all of the other Chevening Scholars; we are like a family. We’ve really bonded, and the group expands as people bring in their classmates. International students are a very diverse group and there are opportunities to network.”

Lisa Hussain is from Guyana and is studying our Fintech MSc.

“I chose the University of Kent because I saw and felt the effort made to ensure my experience was pleasant. I had the opportunity to choose three different universities in the UK to pursue my studies, but I went all the way with Kent instead. I knew this journey would be hard so I needed to be in a place that would care about me, especially during troubling times. That place is and continues to be Kent.”

Kelvin Floyd is from Zambia and is studying Conservation Project Management.

“The scholarship has given me a rare opportunity to study in the UK. I chose the University of Kent because it is one of a few universities that offer an MSc in Conservation Project Management and specific modules for conservation leaders and the DICE MSc is the best as it covers both natural and social sciences. Most importantly the University of Kent is research-oriented and I knew that I was going to gain important skills for my career.”
