After a year of learning, networking, and experiencing UK culture first-hand, the Class of 2016 has now returned to their home countries. British embassies and high commissions around the world have been taking the opportunity to welcome them back with a number of events, in addition to helping them to transition into the global alumni network. Applications for the 2018/2019 round may have closed on 7 November, but Turkmenistan's Chevening Officer Murad Kakajykov has continued marketing, with staff from the embassy attending the Education and Sport annual exhibition in Ashgabat on 9-10 November 2017 to promote the programme. Read more

Sanjay Wadvani, British Ambassador to Turkmenistan recently hosted a dinner to welcome home 2013/2014 scholar Maral Orazniyazova and farewell the 2014/2015 scholars Meylis Garryyev and Lale Matiyeva. Members of Turkmenistan’s Chevening community, as well as a Chevening colleague from China who is currently working in Ashgabat, were also invited to the dinner to share their experiences with and give advice to this year’s scholars.
