Chevening Fellowships in Venezuela

Chevening Fellowships are awarded to talented professionals who are potential future leaders, decision-makers, and opinion formers. The fellowships offer financial support to mid-career professionals already in positions of leadership and influence. These people are active in their field or subject and are looking to further enhance and expand their knowledge, skills and expertise by spending time in the UK on a short course or for a predetermined period of self-directed research.

Applications for all fellowships listed below close at 12 GMT (midday UK time) on the advertised deadline.

How to apply

Applications for Chevening Fellowships can be submitted using the Chevening online application system, available through the 'apply' button on this page.

Prior to starting your application for a Chevening Fellowship please ensure you have the following ready:

Essential:

  • Two references to be provided in a letter format and written in English
  • Valid passport/national ID card
  • University transcripts (undergraduate, postgraduate)

Please note that only documents in PDF format can be uploaded and documents cannot be over 5MB in size.

Optional:

  • English language (if already met the requirements) 

You can submit your initial application without the optional document and upload them to your application at a later date.

The British Embassy in Caracas and the Chevening Alumni Association are carrying out a series of masterclasses to foster discussions on topics of interest for Venezuela and the UK and deepen links between universities from both countries. The first masterclass took place on 5 December 2016 at Catholic University Andrés Bello (UCAB). It celebrated international Human Rights Day with a discussion on the 'Origin and Development of the Universal Human Rights System'. Read more

In August, International Liaison Offier Catriona MacArthur headed to Nigeria and Ghana to support posts’ marketing campaigns and settle the ever-disputed argument over which country makes better jollof rice. Nigeria My first stop was Abuja, where the timing of my visit enabled me to attend and present at the second of the Nigerian pre-departure events. Our 2015/2016 Chevening Scholars have returned home after spending a year in the UK during which they studied hard, built their networks, and became acquainted with British culture. British Embassies and High Commissions all over the world celebrated their return by throwing welcome home events. It is here that our newest cohort of Chevening Alumni receive their Chevening completion certificates, become inducted into the alumni community at home, and showcase all they learnt in the UK.
