'Humanity should fear advances in artificial intelligence'

Join us as the final Chevening Debate discusses this highly topical issue.

Claim your ticket for the chance to enjoy thought-provoking discussions at the world famous Cambridge Union, the oldest debating society in the world. The largest student society in Cambridge, the Union remains a unique forum for the free exchange of ideas and the art of public debate.

We want you to have your say too! Listen to both sides of the argument and, if you still haven’t been convinced, then you will be able to grill the debaters yourself in a Q&A session before voting for or against the movement.

Discussions will continue as we bring the evening to a close with a drinks reception and the opportunity to network.

Programme for the evening:

17:30: Arrival and registration   
18:00: Welcome address 
18:10: Plenary lecture, followed by vote on the motion          
18:30: Scholar debate
19:00: Q&A discussion
19:20: Vote on the motion and closing remarks
19:30: Networking and drinks reception 
20:30: Depart Cambridge Union

Cost: £10 to be taken from July stipend.
Registration for tickets: From 10:00 on Tuesday, 1 May for 48 hours. There are 80 places for this event available. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
