Chevening and Amerisur in Colombia
Amerisur partners with Chevening because it is a way of supporting talented Colombian professionals in their goals of obtaining an international experience studying in the UK, who will then subsequently return to Colombia to apply their knowledge and support Colombia’s socio-economic development.
Amerisur says: 'Partnership with Chevening supports Amerisur’s own corporate responsibility commitments, through the identification of strategic opportunities of global impact. In this case, we hope that the knowledge that the selected Colombian scholars learn through these sponsorships will be shared on their return to support Colombia’s own development.'
Amerisur has worked closely with the British embassy in Bogota for many years, in initiatives around the embassy’s priorities as a commercial partner in the oils and offshore sector. It has supported Chevening for the past two years.
This year, Amerisur is generously co-funding 20 awards available to applicants from Colombia. Applications in the field of politics and government, economics, commerce, natural resources, climate change, sustainability, infrastructure and transport, and defence and security, are particularly encouraged.
Applicants who apply to undertake studies in the relevant areas will be considered for a co-sponsored Chevening Award.
Chevening and Amerisur in Paraguay
This year, Amerisur is also generously co-funding 4 awards available to applicants from Paraguay. These awards support applications in the fields of public policy management, petroleum and gas, geosciences, engineering, economics, finance or international relations.
Applicants who apply to undertake studies in the relevant areas will be considered for a co-sponsored Chevening award.
