Learn in the UK, lead at home, shape the world.

Closed for applications

Chevening is the UK Government’s prestigious international scholarships programme.

Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, and partner organisations, we offer exceptional future leaders the opportunity to further their education in the UK, so that they can drive impact in areas of shared priority for the UK and their home countries.

At a time of unprecedented global challenges, the Chevening network offers a real cause for hope. Our community of leaders and decision-makers is already making a measurable impact in areas like climate action, economic prosperity, and conflict recovery.

Additional information

UK visa: There are no UK visa processing centres available in this country. If your application is successful you will be required to travel to an alternative country to apply for your UK visa. Applicants will be expected to meet all costs associated with travelling to an alternative country; however, scholars may be eligible for a discretionary reimbursement of some travel costs. You will receive further information on what reimbursements are available to you should you be selected for a Chevening Scholarship.

For scholars from Syria, applications to return to third countries may be considered in exceptional circumstances if returning to the home country is impossible due to conflict. This provision does not affect the requirement for all Chevening Scholars to remain outside of the UK for at least two years irrespective of their country of origin.
