All scholars are asked to book their flights through our nominated travel agency and you should not book a flight using any other methods. In general, it will not be possible to provide reimbursement for flights booked independently so do refrain from doing so.
You can use the same referees if necessary and they may provide the same reference letters, but we recommend asking the referees to update them so that they accurately reflect your current skills and abilities.
No, you cannot write your own reference.
Extensions are only granted in exceptional circumstances and subject to funding. They are not automatic, and should not be assumed.

If you are required to make a personal contribution to your tuition fees, it will be written in your final award letter. The Chevening Secretariat strongly discourages fellows from bringing dependants with them to the UK. Award allowances are calculated to cover the fellow’s costs only. Fellows will be solely responsible for all welfare and financial arrangements for any accompanying dependants.
