The Shell Centenary Scholarship Fund recently celebrated 20 years of supporting organisations to increase their impact on education services. To mark the occasion, 12 Chevening Scholars and recent alumni were invited to attend an event hosted at Shell’s head office in London.

Chevening has been one of Shell’s longest standing partners for 18 years, and the funds received from Shell have helped to expand the programme and enabled more scholars to access further education.

Directors of the Shell Centenary Board commented on how they enjoyed engaging with Chevening Scholars and praised their ambition.

When asked about the impact of the Shell/Chevening Scholarship on his professional and academic development, one scholar from the 2016 cohort said:

‘I am grateful in many ways for the sponsorship towards my Chevening Scholarship. Without it, I would not have been able to complete a specialised master’s programme at one of the top universities in the UK and the world. Furthermore, the additional benefits of meeting international students, important network contacts as well as activities external to my master’s have not only contributed to my immediate personal self-growth but towards future rewards which I will be ever grateful for.’

Shell thanks those who attended the event to help celebrate all that the scholarship fund has achieved.
