Chevening Fellowships in Mexico

Chevening Fellowships are awarded to talented professionals who are potential future leaders, decision-makers, and opinion formers. The fellowships offer financial support to mid-career professionals already in positions of leadership and influence. These people are active in their field or subject and are looking to further enhance and expand their knowledge, skills and expertise by spending time in the UK on a short course or for a predetermined period of self-directed research.

Applications for all fellowships listed below close at 12 GMT (midday UK time) on the advertised deadline.

How to apply

Applications for Chevening Fellowships can be submitted using the Chevening online application system, available through the 'apply' button on this page.

Prior to starting your application for a Chevening Fellowship please ensure you have the following ready:

Essential:

  • Two references to be provided in a letter format and written in English
  • Valid passport/national ID card
  • University transcripts (undergraduate, postgraduate)

Please note that only documents in PDF format can be uploaded and documents cannot be over 5MB in size.

Optional:

  • English language (if already met the requirements) 

You can submit your initial application without the optional document and upload them to your application at a later date.

What is included?

Each fellowship award includes the following:

  • Full programme fees
  • Living expenses for the duration of the fellowship
  • Return economy flight from Mexico to the UK

The British Council Study UK Alumni Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of international alumni who studied at UK universities. There are three award categories: Professional Achievement Award, Entrepreneurial Award, and Social Impact Award. On 3 November at the British Embassy in Mexico City, a fascinating conference took place titled Latest trends in international trade and its effects on the policies of the countries. Mexico’s Current stance: Globalization vs Protectionism. The Mexican Chevening Alumni Association (MCAA) partnered with the LSE Mexican Alumni Association, PricewaterhouseCoopers Mexico (PwC), and the UK Alumni Association Mexico to deliver this conference. They brought together high profile experts on international trade to debate what is a hot international topic at the moment. Read more

Global news

Last month, over 40 people took part in the 'Bring a Future Chevener Hike' in the Khomas Mountain on Farm Godeis. Organised by the British High Commission Windhoek and the Chevening Alumni Association of Namibia, the hike served as both a mentoring and information-sharing opportunity. Each alumnus was invited to bring along an individual with the potential to become a Chevening Scholar so that they could learn more about studying in the UK with a Chevening Scholarship.  Read more

Indian and Pakistani scholars play cricket
In the spirit of building understanding through sport, Cheveners from India and Pakistan worked together to arrange a cricket match in July. Inspired by their national teams playing each other in the ICC Champions Trophy, the scholars swapped their books for their bats to participate in a symbolic cricket match. Scholars from Pakistan and India, who were studying all over the UK, independently scheduled, organised, and funded the event, which took place in July in London's iconic Regent's Park. Read more

In June, the Russia Chevening Alumni Association held a panel discussion on global sustainable development to explore global problems and look for practical solutions. The event was hosted by the British Ambassador at his residence in Moscow. Being one of the most important topics of today, the discussion attracted a variety of leading organisations in this field. It welcomed heads of a number of top corporate sustainable development departments, a range of NGOs, academia, and social entrepreneurs. Read more
