Chevening Fellowships in Malaysia

Chevening Fellowships are awarded to talented mid-career professionals who have already demonstrated their capacity to lead and influence. Chevening Fellows are active in their field or subject and are looking to further enhance and expand their knowledge, skills, and expertise by spending time in the UK on a fully-funded short course or research project.

How to apply

Applications for Chevening Fellowships can be submitted using the Chevening online application system, available through the 'apply' button on this page.

Prior to starting your application for a Chevening Fellowship please ensure you have the following ready:

Essential:

  • Two references to be provided in a letter format and written in English
  • Valid passport/national ID card
  • University transcripts (undergraduate, postgraduate)

Please note that only documents in PDF format can be uploaded and documents cannot be over 5MB in size.

Optional:

  • English language (if already met the requirements) 

You can submit your initial application without the optional document and upload them to your application at a later date.

What is included?

Each fellowship award includes the following:

  • Full programme fees
  • Living expenses for the duration of the fellowship
  • Return economy flight from Malaysia to the UK

Global news

Chevening Alumna Khongorzul Amarsanaa (Zola) has dedicated her life to eliminating violence against women and children in Mongolia, especially child sexual abuse. Last month, her efforts, as well as those of the many volunteers at Beautiful Hearts Against Sexual Violence (Beautiful Hearts), were recognised at a global awards ceremony in London. Read more

  The Shell Centenary Scholarship Fund recently celebrated 20 years of supporting organisations to increase their impact on education services. To mark the occasion, 12 Chevening Scholars and recent alumni were invited to attend an event hosted at Shell's head office in London. Chevening has been one of Shell's longest standing partners for 18 years, and the funds received from Shell have helped to expand the programme and enabled more scholars to access further education. This month, Chevening Alumni in Bulgaria officially relaunched the Bulgarian Chevening Association at a reception hosted by Her Excellency Mrs Emma Hopkins, OBE, British Ambassador to Bulgaria. Set at the British Residence in Sofia, Cheveners gathered to network and discuss plans for building a strong, engaged alumni community. About forty Cheveners attended the reception, exchanging memories about their time spent in the UK, information about professional development, and future plans. Read more

In the shadow of Guizhou Province’s highest peak, Chevening Alumni and future applicants from across northeast and southwest China came together for China’s annual Chevening Conference from 22-23 September. Coordinated by China Chevening Alumni in collaboration with the British Consulate General Chongqing, the British Embassy Beijing and the Zoological Society of London, the conference aimed to draw attention to some of the most pressing issues faced by people, cultures, and ecosystems, both domestically and around the world.
