Chevening Fellowships in Indonesia

Chevening Fellowships are awarded to talented professionals who are potential future leaders, decision-makers, and opinion formers. The fellowships offer financial support to mid-career professionals already in positions of leadership and influence. These people are active in their field or subject and are looking to further enhance and expand their knowledge, skills and expertise by spending time in the UK on a short course or for a predetermined period of self-directed research.

Applications for all fellowships listed below close at 12 GMT (midday UK time) on the advertised deadline.

How to apply

Applications for Chevening Fellowships can be submitted using the Chevening online application system, available through the 'apply' button on this page.

Prior to starting your application for a Chevening Fellowship please ensure you have the following ready:

Essential:

  • Two references to be provided in a letter format and written in English
  • Valid passport/national ID card
  • University transcripts (undergraduate, postgraduate)

Please note that only documents in PDF format can be uploaded and documents cannot be over 5MB in size.

Optional:

  • English language (if already met the requirements) 

You can submit your initial application without the optional document and upload them to your application at a later date.

What is included?

Each fellowship award includes the following:

  • Full programme fees
  • Living expenses for the duration of the fellowship
  • Return economy flight from Indonesia to the UK

Two Chevening officer regional conferences have recently taken place around the globe: the first in South-East Asia and the second in Sub-Saharan Africa. These are the third and fourth regional conferences that have taken place since the initiative was first launched in 2015. Both conferences were organised and attended by members of the International team in London. As well as focusing on training and development for Chevening officers in all areas of the programme, the conferences provided a unique platform to share experiences and ideas for the future. Financial Services fellows at King's College London
The first eight Chevening Standard Chartered Financial Services Fellows were welcomed to the UK at a reception held at their host institution, King’s College London (KCL). The fellowship, which is open to mid-career Indian professionals with a background in finance, seeks to builds expertise in areas such as risk management, actuarial sciences, investment management, and financial regulation. In doing so, it aims to promote cross-border cooperation between India and the UK by sharing best practices and developing a mutual appreciation of regulatory systems. Read more

Chevening Scholars had the privilege of an exclusive tour of 10 Downing Street on Wednesday, 12 April, the official residence and office of the UK Prime Minister. 24 scholars won the chance to get a rare glimpse behind the famous black door, inside an historic and elegant building where key decisions have been taken in the UK since 1735, including this week's decision to call a general election. Chevening Scholars seized the opportunity to learn about Welsh politics, language, and cultural distinctiveness through a trip to the National Assembly for Wales in Cardiff.  The day-long event was part of the 'Best of British presents…’ series of trips which aims to showcase the national identities, cultures, and political institutions of the four constituent nations that make up the United Kingdom.
