March 8 marks International Women’s Day, an annual platform for global unification and a drive for action towards gender parity. In celebration, Chevening will be offering free tickets to a range of events throughout the UK, aimed at highlighting prominent women in history and learning how they contributed towards a more equal society. Our 35th anniversary conference explores the theme of 'Pushing boundaries and shaping the future'. While other northern towns made their wealth from wool, cotton and steel, York was once known as the chocolate city. The smell of chocolate would waft through the air and dustings of cocoa would cover the surfaces after erupting from the city's famous chocolate factories: Terry's, Rowntree's and Cravens. During the day, you will learn how York built the city’s economy through the production of chocolate, before getting a chance to make your very own chocolate creation. Read more

Volunteer marshals will be responsible for making sure that the route is safe, and will cheer the runners on as they complete the race.
