Placement
Before confirming a Chevening Scholarship, we need universities to share information about the courses their applicants have chosen. All details are submitted through our online system, ASAMS. Read on to find out more.
The information universities provide helps us determine scholarship dates, costs, and ultimately confirm scholarship awards for applicants to your university. Last year, we introduced the applicant management system, ASAMS, our online platform where universities submit this information. Based on your feedback, we made some improvements to your ASAMS dashboard. Below is guidance on how to use ASAMS for the placement process.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Log in to ASAMS to access placement forms that need to be completed. Multiple university contacts can have login access to ASAMS at any one time.
- All previous accounts are now deactivated, and you will need to complete registration for a new account this year.
- If you need help gathering course information, please download the template below and share it with relevant colleagues. Use it to collect the information you need and then complete the placement forms in ASAMS.
Download the template [Word document]
Here’s what you can do on your ASAMS dashboard:
- View a list of all conditionally selected Chevening offer holders that selected your university as their first, second, or third course choice .
- View a list of incomplete placement forms that are pending completion.
- Complete placement forms. Completed forms are now available to view and download (NEW!)
Guidance for ASAMS account set up
You will receive an email from chevening.awards@notifications.service.gov.uk to set up an ASAMS account.
Click on the unique link in this email within seven days.
Create your password and set up your security questions.
Download or open an authenticator app on your mobile phone, such as Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator.
If you had an ASAMS account previously, you will need to set up a new link on your authenticator app to complete your new account registration. To avoid future confusion when logging in, we recommend first deleting the previous ASAMS account link on your Authenticator.
Follow the on-screen instructions to link the authenticator app to your ASAMS account.
Once you’re setup, a one-time recovery code will be shown on screen. Write this code down and keep it somewhere safe. You won’t be able to access it again later.
