As a professional football club, Swindon Town FC is supporting a scholar from Pakistan to pursue a master’s degree in football coaching or football science.
Swindon Town Football Club is a professional football club that currently competes in ‘The English Football League Two’.
Since January 2022, Swindon Town FC have been running a coaching programme in Karachi and, as of 2023, are the only professional English football club to have a presence in Pakistan.
As part of their training programme, Pakistani players and coaches have been offered the chance to train at Swindon and compete for professional football contracts in the UK.
Swindon Town Football Club and Chevening
Swindon Town Football Club is partnering with Chevening to support a scholar from Pakistan to study a master’s degree in football science at:
- Solent University (MSc Football Science).
Why is Swindon Town Football Club partnering with Chevening?
Whilst the focus to date has been on developing players, Swindon is now looking to expand its offering and develop local professional coaching capabilities by partnering with Chevening.
Swindon Town FC is excited to be partnering with Chevening to develop local football coaching talent, and as part of its international engagement work, take the game in Pakistan to the next level.
Once they have completed their master’s degree, the hope is that the scholar will return to Pakistan to develop the next generation of local talent, elevating the standard of the game across the board as future leaders in the sport.
In the long term, this will assist Swindon Town FC in its effort to produce the next generation of football superstars in Pakistan.
