BECAL

The Carlos Antonio López (BECAL) scholarship is a national initiative focused on strengthening research, innovation, and education in Paraguay. It aims to expand the country’s pool of highly skilled professionals by supporting postgraduate training in science, technology, and education.

BECAL helps to develop researchers, educators, and professionals who will go on to contribute to knowledge creation and national development.

Who do they sponsor?

BECAL sponsors 12 Chevening Scholarships for applicants from Paraguay.

To be considered for these awards, there are no course restrictions. You can choose to study any Chevening-eligible course at any UK university. However, preference will be given to those wishing to study courses related to science, technology, engineering, mathematics, innovation, and education.

Please note: If you meet the criteria for a partner-funded Chevening Scholarship, you will automatically be considered for it. You don’t need to do anything differently, or take any additional steps, when submitting your Chevening application.
