Anglo American Foundation

Study in the UK with the support of a Chevening Scholarship from Anglo American Foundation

The Anglo American Foundation is an independent charity built on more than a century of philanthropy, partnership and social responsibility. Its roots go back to 1919, when supported communities in South Africa during the Spanish Flu, and later grew through initiatives such as the Chairman’s Fund and Tshikululu Social Investments, which focused on long-term community impact. These efforts came together in 2020 to form the Anglo America Foundation as a single, global organisation.

Today, the Foundation focuses on helping young people unlock their potential, creating opportunities and supporting solutions that contribute to a greener and fairer future.

Who do they sponsor?

Anglo American Foundation sponsors five Chevening Scholarships for applicants from South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola, Peru, Brazil, and Colombia.

Hear from Anglo American Foundation:

‘The largest generation of young people in history is here, and they are ready to lead. Potential alone is not enough. When young people have the power to participate and the means to build their futures, they do more than thrive. They transform economies, reimagine societies, and drive systemic change. The future is not something they are waiting for. It is something they are shaping right now.’
