Lord Mayor’s Show, London

The Lord Mayor’s Show has floated, trotted, marched and fought its way through 800 years of London history; watch as it travels through the City. If you want to discover exactly what makes the City of London unique, the Lord Mayor’s Show is a great opportunity as heritage and modernity come together one of the most exciting days in the City’s year. The Lord Mayor’s Show is the largest unrehearsed pageant in the world and brings together all the pomp and pageantry the City can muster. A three mile long procession of music and movement, community and commerce, pageantry and paraphernalia, the Show represents the City in all its diversity. 

Lewes: World’s biggest bonfire celebrations

5 November 2015

The Lewes Bonfire Night, is the biggest celebrated fifth November event in the world, and is held in the usually peaceful county town of Lewes East Sussex. It is the biggest and the only proper bonfire night celebration left of its kind in the UK. It features six different torchlight processions throughout the town, plus tar barrel rolling, marching bands, drummers, traditional fancy dress and floats with topical bonfire effigies. Each procession ends in a bonfire and fireworks display.

Lumiere Light Festival

12-15 November 2015

Lumiere, the breath taking, city-wide celebration of light returns to sprinkle magic across Durham City for four dazzling evenings. The spectacular festival will bring a series of international and local artists, lighting designers, and community groups together to illuminate the medieval city’s buildings, streets and public spaces, weaving a nocturnal art trail through the city with an incredible series of installations.

Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park

20 November 2015 – 3 January 2016

Get into the festive spirit as family favourite Winter Wonderland returns to London’s Hyde Park. This free-to-enter event includes a host of Christmas-themed fun and activities, including big top shows, an observation wheel and a huge Christmas market. 

Bath Christmas Market

26 November – 13 December 2015

Bath Christmas Market is a magical festive shopping experience, set against the city centre’s stunning backdrop of historic buildings. The Bath Christmas Market is the biggest and most beautiful Christmas shopping event in the South West region, consisting of more than 170 beautifully decorated wooden chalets, each selling a variety of high-quality, and often local, Christmas decorations, gifts, toys, clothes and festive food and drink. Set in the picturesque streets and squares surrounding Bath Abbey and the Roman Baths, there couldn’t be a more perfect setting for a Christmas Market in the UK.
