Host an internship for Chevening scholars

Partnering with us to deliver an internship is a great way to advance your organisation's objectives, while empowering the next generation of leaders.

Thanks to the generosity of our partners, we have been able to award more than 60,000 Chevening scholarships to future leaders from around the world. But if you’re interested in becoming a Chevening partner, providing financial support is only one way to make an impact. You can also partner with us to deliver internship and placement opportunities for scholars

Why host an internship for Chevening scholars?

Chevening scholars are selected from thousands of applicants not just for their commitment to creating positive change, but also for their leadership and influencing skills. Hosting interns will allow you to tap into this pool of high-calibre individuals.

Many Chevening scholars go on to become influential figures in government, business, and industry. By offering internships while they’re early on in their career, you can develop meaningful relationships with future leaders from all over the world.

Offering internships is a practical way to demonstrate your commitment to international cooperation and social mobility. It shows stakeholders that your organisation is serious about investing in human capital and supporting global leadership development.

Chevening scholars represent more than 140 countries and territories. Besides bringing diversity in perspective, working with Chevening scholars may help your organisation to reach new markets and audiences.

Hear from Chevening scholars

The [Chevening BBC] internship helped me to improve my journalistic skills through the tools and the training provided by the BBC Academy. I also learned valuable lessons on how to cover international stories, ensuring information is verified and presented partially and fairly.

Mariana Hernandez, 2024-25 Chevening BBC World Service intern

Working at the BBC in London has been truly amazing… I had the wonderful opportunity to interact with the World Service leadership and present strategies for the BBC to increase its podcasting reach in India and particularly serve more female audiences. They have been most welcoming and gave me a blue-sky canvas to ideate and produce some of their award-winning global podcasts and that has been a very valuable experience!

Mridu Bhandari, 2021-22 Chevening BBC World Service intern
