No, you do not need to resign from full-time employment in order to apply for a Chevening Award. However, you are personally responsible for ensuring that you will be able to accept the award offer when it’s made and that your employer will release you in time for departure to the UK.

You are asked to provide details of your work experience in the application form. This includes the name of your employer(s), job title(s), and dates of employment. If you are shortlisted to interview, you will be asked to provide references, which will be verified by the British embassy or high commission.
Applicants must meet the minimum work experience requirement before submitting their application. Applicants whose work experience amounts to less than the minimum amount will not be considered for an award.
