You are asked to provide details of your work experience in the application form. This includes the name of your employer(s), job title(s), and dates of employment. If you are shortlisted to interview, you will be asked to provide references, which will be verified by the British embassy or high commission.
Applicants must meet the minimum work experience requirement before submitting their application. Applicants whose work experience amounts to less than the minimum amount will not be considered for an award.
The types of work experience that are eligible for Chevening include full-time employment; part-time employment; voluntary work; and paid or unpaid internships. Work experience must be acquired after graduating from your undergraduate studies. Fellowship programmes may have additional requirements which you should check on the relevant programme page.
Chevening applicants must have at least two year’s work experience (or 2,800 hours) of work experience, acquired after the completion of their undergraduate degree.
