We’re excited to invite Chevening, Commonwealth, and Marshall scholars to come together to celebrate the end of their studies in the UK!

Location:Alexandra Palace, London

Time: 12:30 – 17:00

Throughout the day, scholars will have the opportunity to celebrate their achievements, expand their networks, and hear from some inspiring guest speakers.

Important information to bear in mind for the day:

What to wear/bring:

  • We encourage you to celebrate your heritage by wearing traditional clothing from your home country, if you feel comfortable! But please note, it is expected to be a warm sunny day, so please dress accordingly and bring your own refillable water bottle.
  • We also encourage you to bring any Chevening branded items if possible.
  • Please bring a pen! You will need it for the networking session.

Arrival:

  • When you registered via Eventbrite, you will have received a confirmation with a QR code – please have this ready on arrival to ensure a swift entry to the venue.
  • Security screenings will be in place on entry. Any scholars who are pregnant or have pacemakers can request standard bag security searches.
  • There will be a cloakroom in operation, but please note that large luggage is not permitted onsite.

Attendance:

  • As a mandatory event, all scholars are expected to attend Farewell. Please contact your Programme Officer in advance if you are unable to do so.
  • Please be reminded that as per the terms and conditions that you agreed to when accepting your awards (specifically Section 6 – Conduct), you are expected to act as an ambassador for Chevening and this also applies to Chevening events.
  • Farewell is a celebratory event. It may be paused or closed early in the event of any misconduct.

Photography and videography:

  • There will be photographers and videographers on site. If you’d rather not be photographed, please inform the photographer directly. Yellow lanyards will also be available for those who wish to opt out of being filmed or photographed.
  • If you’d like to be in with a chance of featuring on Chevening’s channels, please let our videographers know you’d like to be filmed. Volunteers will be chosen based on who is available at the time of an open slot. Some example questions you might be asked include:
    • What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received in your career/journey so far?
    • What was your first impression of British culture, and has it changed over the course of the year?
    • Can you share a moment when you felt particularly welcomed or supported in the UK?
