St. Luke’s and Christ Church, London

£10

Chevening scholars are invited to join a traditional Christmas carol concert!

The concert is held at St. Luke’s and Christ Church, which was built in 1824, and is famously the site of Charles Dickens’s marriage in 1836 – providing a historic setting in which to experience one of the UK’s most-loved traditions.

Carols are traditional songs and hymns sung as an expression of community celebration, and date back to medieval times, when the word ‘carol’ meant ‘to sing a song of praise and joy’. The practice of carolling was revived in the Victorian era as popular Christmas activity and has been celebrated as a festive tradition ever since.

Get ready for an incredibly festive experience filled with music, singing, popular hymns and a beautiful performance by a London Chamber Choir!
