Chevening Fellowships in Turkey

Chevening Fellowships are awarded to talented mid-career professionals who have already demonstrated their capacity to lead and influence. Chevening Fellows are active in their field or subject and are looking to further enhance and expand their knowledge, skills, and expertise by spending time in the UK on a fully-funded short course or research project.

Applications for all fellowships close at 12 GMT (midday UK time) on their advertised deadline.

The following fellowships are currently closed for applications:

How to apply

Applications for Chevening Fellowships can be submitted using the Chevening online application system, available through the 'apply' button on this page.

Prior to starting your application for a Chevening Fellowship please ensure you have the following ready:

Essential:

  • Two references to be provided in a letter format and written in English
  • Valid passport/national ID card
  • University transcripts (undergraduate, postgraduate)

Please note that only documents in PDF format can be uploaded and documents cannot be over 5MB in size.

Optional:

  • English language (if already met the requirements) 

You can submit your initial application without the optional document and upload them to your application at a later date.

What is included?

Each fellowship award includes the following:

  • Full programme fees
  • Living expenses for the duration of the fellowship
  • Return economy flight from Turkey to the UK

We often celebrate outstanding individual alumni who are leading in their country or sector, but today we’d like to introduce you to two alumni who have pooled their skills and talents together to make a positive change in Turkey. They are Ali Ercan Özgür (2003, Turkey) who studied Governance and Development Management at the University of Birmingham; and Güler Altınsoy (2008, Turkey), who studied the MSc in Development Studies at SOAS. Global news

Universities Wales is pleased to announce a partnership with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office on the creation of the Chevening Universities Wales Scholarships. Universities Wales will co-fund up to ten Vietnamese scholars in 2020/2021 and in 2021/2022 to study a one-year taught master’s in any subject at a Welsh university as part of the prestigious Chevening Scholarships programme. On Saturday, 3 November, Chevening Alumni in East China celebrated 35 years of Chevening with HRH The Duke of York. The exclusive reception was held in Shanghai, where the Duke is leading the UK Delegation for the China International Import Expo (CIIE). The celebration was a unique opportunity for Chevening Alumni to share their experiences of the UK with the Duke, and to showcase the impact that Chevening has had on their lives and careers. 1,800 Chevening Scholars were formally welcomed to the UK at Chevening Orientation 2018, our inaugural scholarship event held in London on Saturday, 20 October. Orientation heralds the start of the year for scholars studying at universities across the country as the programme enters its 35th anniversary year. Read more

The British Consulate General in Hong Kong and the Standard Chartered Hong Kong 150th Anniversary Community Foundation have signed a one-year agreement to offer Chevening Scholarships in Hong Kong. Scholarships are for students intending to study financial technology-related subjects at any university in the UK. The Foundation will sponsor two Hong Kong nationals for the 2019/2020 academic year, with the goal of developing Hong Kong’s promising young professionals in the field of financial technology.
