Chevening Fellowships in Thailand

Chevening Fellowships are awarded to talented mid-career professionals who have already demonstrated their capacity to lead and influence. Chevening Fellows are active in their field or subject and are looking to further enhance and expand their knowledge, skills, and expertise by spending time in the UK on a fully-funded short course or research project.

How to apply

Applications for Chevening Fellowships can be submitted using the Chevening online application system, available through the 'apply' button on this page.

Prior to starting your application for a Chevening Fellowship please ensure you have the following ready:

Essential:

  • Two references to be provided in a letter format and written in English
  • Valid passport/national ID card
  • University transcripts (undergraduate, postgraduate)

Please note that only documents in PDF format can be uploaded and documents cannot be over 5MB in size.

Optional:

  • English language (if already met the requirements) 

You can submit your initial application without the optional document and upload them to your application at a later date.

What is included?

Each fellowship award includes the following:

  • Full programme fees
  • Living expenses for the duration of the fellowship
  • Return economy flight from Thailand to the UK

The British Council Study UK Alumni Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of international alumni who studied at UK universities. There are three award categories: Professional Achievement Award, Entrepreneurial Award, and Social Impact Award. Global news

To mark Human Rights Day, the British embassy in Jakarta and Chevening Alumni Association Indonesia ran a competition called 'Chevening Diversity: 1 minute film challenge' to promote promote cultural and religious tolerance. Entrants were asked to produce a one minute film about religious and cultural diversity, which were then uploaded to a dedicated YouTube channel. Read more

Applications for the 2018/2019 round may have closed on 7 November, but Turkmenistan's Chevening Officer Murad Kakajykov has continued marketing, with staff from the embassy attending the Education and Sport annual exhibition in Ashgabat on 9-10 November 2017 to promote the programme. Read more

As part of the 'Chevening Explores’ series, Cheveners past and present came together in Nottingham to discuss the challenges and opportunities around sustainability. The event, Sense and Sustainability, opened with a welcome speech from Professor Sarah Metcalfe of the University of Nottingham, during which she outlined the university's research priorities and institutional focus on sustainable and resilient cities. She also acknlowledged the value of the Chevening programme for the scholars in attendance. Read more
