Chevening Fellowships in Thailand

Chevening Fellowships are awarded to talented mid-career professionals who have already demonstrated their capacity to lead and influence. Chevening Fellows are active in their field or subject and are looking to further enhance and expand their knowledge, skills, and expertise by spending time in the UK on a fully-funded short course or research project.

How to apply

Applications for Chevening Fellowships can be submitted using the Chevening online application system, available through the 'apply' button on this page.

Prior to starting your application for a Chevening Fellowship please ensure you have the following ready:

Essential:

  • Two references to be provided in a letter format and written in English
  • Valid passport/national ID card
  • University transcripts (undergraduate, postgraduate)

Please note that only documents in PDF format can be uploaded and documents cannot be over 5MB in size.

Optional:

  • English language (if already met the requirements) 

You can submit your initial application without the optional document and upload them to your application at a later date.

What is included?

Each fellowship award includes the following:

  • Full programme fees
  • Living expenses for the duration of the fellowship
  • Return economy flight from Thailand to the UK

Global news

In Kabul, celebrations were in order at the start of May as Cheveners gathered to celebrate the launch of their new Chevening Alumni network. After many years of meeting together informally, the Afghanistan Chevening Alumni Network (known as Afghanistan-CAN) has now been established and registered with the government of Afghanistan. Deputy Ambassador James Squire officially launched the network at a ceremony at the British Embassy in Kabul, which was attended by over 50 people.   Read more

Chevening Alumni India (CAI) have been running a series of events focused on tackling sexism. We caught up with Deepti Ameta, a member of CAI, to find out more.   Why did Chevening Alumni India decide to run events about gender equality? These awards seek to recognise outstanding achievements of professionals, entrepreneurs, and community leaders, and are open to international alumni who have studied at a UK higher education institution within the past 15 years. The British Library together with Chevening held its’ Chevening Explores: The Great War and World Literature event on 23 May at the British Library with a talk by Dr Santanu Das. The event was also an opportunity to showcase the research of Chevening Fellow, Partha Bhaumik during his 2017/2018 British Library Fellowship.  Read more
