Chevening Fellowships in Sudan

Chevening Fellowships are awarded to talented mid-career professionals who have already demonstrated their capacity to lead and influence. Chevening Fellows are active in their field or subject and are looking to further enhance and expand their knowledge, skills, and expertise by spending time in the UK on a fully-funded short course or research project.

Applications for all fellowships close at 12 GMT (midday UK time) on their advertised deadline.

How to apply

Applications for Chevening Fellowships can be submitted using the Chevening online application system, available through the 'apply' button on this page.

Prior to starting your application for a Chevening Fellowship please ensure you have the following ready:

Essential:

  • Two references to be provided in a letter format and written in English
  • Valid passport/national ID card
  • University transcripts (undergraduate, postgraduate)

Please note that only documents in PDF format can be uploaded and documents cannot be over 5MB in size.

Optional:

  • English language (if already met the requirements) 

You can submit your initial application without the optional document and upload them to your application at a later date.

What is included?

Each fellowship award includes the following:

  • Full programme fees
  • Living expenses for the duration of the fellowship
  • Return economy flight from Sudan to the UK

Chevening officers from across the Middle East and North Africa gathered in Dubai for a three-day regional conference in December 2017, during which they also had the opportunity to meet with Chevening Alumni. Chevening officers are responsible for marketing to applicants, selecting scholars, and engaging with alumni in their respective countries. Regional workshops provide a valuable opportunity for them to receive training, share best practice with one another, and discuss some of the particular opportunities and challenges for Chevening in their region. Global news

The British Consulate General in Hong Kong and the Standard Chartered Hong Kong 150th Anniversary Community Foundation have signed a one-year agreement to offer Chevening Scholarships in Hong Kong. Scholarships are for students intending to study financial technology-related subjects at any university in the UK. The Foundation will sponsor two Hong Kong nationals for the 2019/2020 academic year, with the goal of developing Hong Kong’s promising young professionals in the field of financial technology. Applications for Chevening Scholarships to study in the UK are open between 6 August and 6 November 2018, with applications to be submitted via www.chevening.org/apply.Chevening Scholarships are awarded to individuals with demonstrable leadership potential who also have strong academic backgrounds. The scholarship offers full financial support to study for any eligible master’s degree at any UK university whilst also giving access to a wide range of exclusive academic, professional, and cultural experiences. Chevening marked a special moment in its history at the 2018 Farewell event as the global network of Chevening Alumni reached 50,000. 1,649 departing Chevening Scholars came together to celebrate a year as part of the programme on Wednesday, 4 July at London’s iconic Alexandra Palace. Read more

In Kabul, celebrations were in order at the start of May as Cheveners gathered to celebrate the launch of their new Chevening Alumni network. After many years of meeting together informally, the Afghanistan Chevening Alumni Network (known as Afghanistan-CAN) has now been established and registered with the government of Afghanistan. Deputy Ambassador James Squire officially launched the network at a ceremony at the British Embassy in Kabul, which was attended by over 50 people.   Read more
