Meet the team

Verity Wilkes

Senior Fellowships Officer

Verity grew up in the UK in rural Shropshire and then by the coast in Cornwall. Before her Bachelor’s, she spent time travelling around Australia and New Zealand before heading back to the UK to complete her BA in History and American Studies at the University of Nottingham, at which time she also spent a year studying in the USA.

She joined the Chevening Secretariat in 2015 and has previously worked as an International Liaison Officer with countries in South Asia, East Asia, ASEAN and Oceania. Prior to Chevening, Verity worked in student support, widening participation, and undergraduate and postgraduate student recruitment at the University of Southampton.

Verity is passionate about travelling and exploring new places, both in the UK and further afield, but she also enjoys taking in the arts and cultural opportunities in her adopted home of London.

Adam Vidler

Communications Assistant

Adam has joined the Secretariat as the new communications assistant. His main focus is to support the fellowships team with all of their communications and marketing activities. He traded the sleepy Surrey countryside for the bright lights of Manchester where he completed his Bachelors degree in Plant Science at the University of Manchester. Following on from this, he spent a year as a communications assistant intern at Manchester Medical School before coming to Chevening. He loves the odd surf session, meeting new people, and discovering all that London has to offer.
