Rukmankan Sivaloganathan

Managing Director - Welanka Holidays (Pvt) Ltd

As the managing director of Welanka Holidays (Pvt) Ltd, Rukmankan has the overall responsibility for the company in both his executive capacity and due to his role as it’s founder and chief promoter. Hi motivations for applying for the scholarship were to enhance his own personal development, to learn from other fellows, to broaden his network, and to work on a social impact idea he has. During his time here in the UK, Rukmankan aims to learn from his peers, the experts on his programme and to leave with a workable business model which he can execute on his return to Sri Lanka.

Paromita Banerjee

Senior Scientist, CSIR-Unit

Paromita is a Senior Scientist at CSIR-Unit for Research and Development of Information Products (URDIP), Pune and is currently providing intellectual property and techno-commercial information services to assist research community and industries at their research and development phase. She has graduated with a PhD in Synthetic chemistry from IIT, Kharagpur and has a diploma in Patent law from Nalsar University. She is really passionate to expand her expertise in downstream activities as technology moves from research laboratories to the market place. She is extremely interested in networking and learning from other industry professionals on how new concepts get converted into successful commercial products, technology transfer process operates and how one communicates the value to business community and valorizes the technology.

Rozanne Croos Moares

General Manager, Senok

Rozanne is the General Manager (Power Projects) for Senok, a diversified company in Sri Lanka. Providing energy to rural communities is an area which she has personal interest in and hence is working in the renewable energy based power generation sector.  She is hopeful the CRISP experience, will give her a better understanding of the development of science and technology and the policy aspect of it as well.  With an Engineering and Project Management background, she is confident this programme will be a learning experience into new sectors and be useful for networking with likeminded individuals and organizations as well.

Sreekumar Menon

Joint Managing Director, Dynamic Techno Medicals

Sreekumar has P&L responsibility for the operations of Dynamic Techno Medicals (DTM),a leading medical device manufacturer based in Cochin, Kerala. He has been with DTM since 2007 and has handled a variety of leadership roles in IT, Finance and Marketing.Sreekumar is passionate about enabling affordable healthcare in India by reducing the cost of medical devices. DTM has introduced several new products into the Indian market and he would like to continue this tradition by driving innovation within the firm as well as by associating with universities and corporations for technology transfer. Before returning to India, Sreekumar spent about a decade with Morgan Stanley, New York. Sreekumar has an engineering degree from IIT Kharagpur and a PGDM from IIM Calcutta.

Arjun Myrne

Principal Executive Officer, Tata Advanced Systems Limited

Arjun is the Principal Executive Officer at the Aerospace business of Tata Advanced Systems Limited – the Tata Group lead company for Defence & Aerospace. He is responsible for supporting the business leadership in strategic initiatives and driving cross-functional synergies across the business. He has cross-functional experience in establishing the business from a start-up, having worked across Business Development, Program Management and Operations. An MBA from IIM Lucknow, he joined the Tata Group through its leadership program - Tata Administrative Services. Through CRISP, he is looking forward to learning about the UK innovation eco-system and how it can be a model for growth of new technologies and ventures in the Indian Defence & Aerospace sector.

Dushyant Maladik

Assistant Professor, Centre for Economics and Finance Analysis

Dushyant is an Assistant Professor in Centre for Economics and Finance analysis in the areas of infrastructure development, public policy, financial structuring, risk management, programme evaluation, etc. He is actively involved in mid-career training and development of professionals working in corporate sector and government. He has organized over 50 programmes and trained over 2000 professionals in last five years.

His clientele includes Bharat Dynamics Limited, Department of Finance – Government of Andhra Pradesh, Indian Rare Earths Limited, Indian Space Research Organization, MRF Limited, NABARD, NHPC, NTPC, SAP India Limited and several ministries in India.

In the past, he has worked in corporate planning as well as execution roles with reputed organization including Cummins India Limited, General Electric, and Pratt & Whitney. He holds a post graduate diploma in management from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and a Master of Technology degree from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. His areas of interest are public-private-partnerships, infrastructure development and risk management.

Magesh Nandagopal

Scientist and Technology Manager, CSIR – National Chemical Laboratory

Magesh works to create value out of science done in the laboratory, through licensing, by creating spinoffs, charting new routes for commercialization and building the innovation-support ecosystem. He is a co-founder of a tech startup providing high-throughput analytical solutions for the food industry. He was instrumental in creating over ten technology spinoffs and has mentored over 100 innovators, entrepreneurs in creating startups, raising early stage funding etc. He has a PhD (in Polymer Science) and an MBA (in Finance) - both from the University of Connecticut, USA. He is currently working to map the plastics waste recycling landscape in India, aiming to redesign the way we consume, discard and recycle plastics.

Uma Rajarathnam

Head of Applied Research and Collaboration, Enzen Global Solutions

Dr. Uma Rajarathnam heads the Applied Research and Collaboration center at Enzen. She has done her Masters in Environment Science and Doctorate from Center for Energy Studies, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. She is alumni of Stanford Graduate Business, USA. She had illustrious career with reputed institutes namely The Energy and Resource Institute (NEERI) and National Environmental Engineering Research Institute.

She has over 24 years of rich experience in research, providing expert solutions and advisory services in the areas of renewable energy, energy efficiency, climate change and environmental health.  She is responsible for the technical direction and delivery of complex multi-disciplinary projects. She has been worked on various assignments with international bodies namely Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), United Nation Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), World Health Organization (WHO), The World Bank and United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). Her contribution for climate Change activity was recognized as a contributing activity towards the UN International Panel for Climate Change (IPCC) winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007. She has been awarded with Fulbright Indo American Environment leadership Program (Fulbright-IAELP) fellowship. She has published more than 30 research papers in peer reviewed journals and books.

Ashwin Sabapathy

Director, Data Science, Azuga Inc

Leading the Data Science practice at Azuga, Ashwin currently focuses on the analysis and modeling of telematics, sensor and vehicle data. Using

data driven insights gleaned from such analyses, he is instrumental in driving innovation through the development of new product features and services. Prior to this, he has spent several years working in the urban energy and environmental sectors. Ashwin holds a Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and, as part of the CRISP programme, intends to work at the intersection of technology, data analytics and urban management. His specific objective is to develop a framework for a viable analytics platform for smart city management.

Vishal Sardeshpande

Adjunct Associate Professor, Center for Technology Alternatives for Rural Areas (CTARA), IIT Bombay

Dr. Sardeshpande (PhD IIT, Bombay) has been associated with organizations like Thermax, A.T.E. enterprises, NDDB (National Dairy Development Board), MNRE (Ministry of New and Renewable energy), Forbes Marshall for more than 20 years. He has worked for sectors like Chemical, Engineering, Textile, Pulp & Paper, Glass, Foundry and Steel industries and conducted more than 50 energy studies in these sectors. His specialties are product development, industrial energy studies and application engineering which he has applied for solar process heating, furnaces, steam systems, HVAC systems, compressed air systems, agro processing. His interest is wider dissimilation of solar applications, rural and agricultural sector application engineering and assisting small and medium enterprises to enhance their productivity. He is currently working on solar process heat applications in milk processing, industrial heating, community cooking; product development for solar roasting, jaggery (raw sugar) and turmeric processing; productivity increase for poultry and poly-house farming sector. 

Rustam Sengupta

Founder and Chairman, Boond Engineering & Development

Rustam Sengupta is an energy access entrepreneur and base of the pyramid (BoP) expert. He researches on sustainable social enterprise design and implements his work first hand on the field. Rustam is the founder and Chairman of Boond (, that promotes solar energy access in India and South Asia. He is an expert in designing and data analysis for products and services for the energy market and has also been consulting to numerous universities and institutions on renewable energy, climate change and emerging market economics. Rustam has won a number of awards (Echoing Green Fellowship 2014, Economic Times Power of Ideas 2010, Nokia DLD Global Challenge, Australia India Youth Dialog Fellow 2012, UN Women 2012 etc.) and more importantly has directly impacted the lives of over 200,000 people in remote villages of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Kashmir over the past five years. He was also a part of the Indian Prime Minister’s delegation to the US in 2014 as one of the 36 leading entrepreneurs of the country.

Amit Sharma

Group Head – Strategy, Cytecare Cancer Hospitals Pvt Ltd, India

Amit is currently working as Group Head of Strategy at Cytecare Cancer Hospitals based at Bangalore, India. He has more than 16 years of work experience primarily in lifesciences and healthcare space with special focus on cancer research. Amit is a Post Graduate in Pharmacology from KMC Manipal and MBA in Strategy from MDI Gurgaon. 

Amit is currently engaged with a team of passionate professionals who are working towards providing world class cancer care to Indian patients. Recognizing the significant gap in quality of cancer care and lack of use of standard, evidence-based protocols in cancer therapy in India, the team is working towards briging in global best practices that is aimed at better clinical outcomes while also focusing on individual patient needs. The mission of the team is to Fight Cancer the Right Way and he is extremely keen to network and collaborate with professionals from global healthcare industry to enable him and his team in achieving this goal.

Shabnam Siddiqui

Director, CEGET

Shabnam Siddiqui is Director of the Centre of Excellence for Governance, Ethics and Transparency (CEGET) at UN Global Compact Network India. Shabnam is an academic practitioner with twenty years of experience in gender, peace and governance work, of which twelve years have exclusively focused on governance, ethics and transparency initiatives and interventions. 

Shabnam specialises in developing and executing strategic intervention through multi-stakeholder networks, is skilled at training and research and has several national and international publications to her credit. Work station and academic learning has been primarily garnered in India, with short-term and long-term stints in Pakistan, Italy, France, United States and Singapore. Apart from her work Shabnam is passionate about travel and wildlife and is an amateur wildlife photographer.

Rajkumar Siva Muthu Kumar Arcot

Associate Director - Power & Utilities - KPMG Advisory Services Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad.

Siva is a power sector professional with over 13 years of experience in regulatory affairs, tariff structuring, and performance measures for utilities such as energy accounting, reliability improvement and cost of service studies. His experience in utilities consulting has been across multiple states in India and also in the UK. He also specializes in renewable energy procurement, policy advocacy, MIS, business planning and strategy support for developers who are operating/ intending to make an entry in power sector.
