On Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 October, Chevening Alumni hosted a ground-breaking forum on the topic of Public Policy and Behavioural Sciences in Montevideo, Uruguay. The event, which received funding from the Chevening Alumni Programme Fund (CAPF), marked a pivotal moment for Uruguay, as it was the first forum of its kind in the country’s history. It was a truly collaborative effort, bringing together Chevening Alumni from 15 Latin American countries to discuss pressing issues facing policy makers in the region. Read more

‘With kindness, we will change the leadership landscape,’ said Pinky Lilani CBE (Founder, Women of the Future Programme), kicking off the 2018 Women of the Future Summit in London with a call to action. Twenty five Chevening Scholars were privileged to attend this dynamic event, which aims to connect, inspire, and support the next generation of women in leadership. On the theme of ‘Harnessing the Power of Trust,’ 350 delegates from 44 countries were invited to reflect on the changing nature of trust, and discuss what this means for future models of leadership. As part of the 'Chevening Explores’ series, Cheveners past and present came together in Nottingham to discuss the challenges and opportunities around sustainability. The event, Sense and Sustainability, opened with a welcome speech from Professor Sarah Metcalfe of the University of Nottingham, during which she outlined the university's research priorities and institutional focus on sustainable and resilient cities. She also acknlowledged the value of the Chevening programme for the scholars in attendance. Read more

Every year on 8 March women from all walks of life are celebrated on International Women’s Day. It is a day where their achievements, and the contribution they make to society, are recognised and lauded. The theme for 2015 is ‘make it happen’ and Chevening is using this as an opportunity to showcase some of its alumnae who are the personification of that theme. The third edition of the annual ‘Chevening TALKS’ took place at the British residence earlier this week. Chevening Scholars and other leaders attending the event, listened to Alberto Crescenti, director of SAME (Emergency Service of Buenos Aires City), Carlos Guyot, deputy editor of newspaper La Nación, and Alec Oxenford, internet entrepreneur and founder of OLX.com who explored different perspectives of leadership from a variety of sectors.
