Building entrepreneurs out of poverty

Mashiat Mahbub Chowdhury and Sayan Muhammad Rafi, two Chevening alumni from Bangladesh, are now making an impact in the development sector of their home country. Either by providing mechanization for agricultural activities or improving women’s knowledge and abilities in business, their work empowers rural Bangladeshi communities to come out of poverty and challenge social and cultural norms.

The Rewarding Journey of Giving Back

Evans Lyndon Baines-Johnson was awarded the Chevening Scholarship in 2015 from Sierra Leone, in West Africa. Before studying Governance and Public Policy at the University of Sheffield, Evans was involved in the 2014 Ebola response as part of an international NGO. This experience was the starting point of a rewarding and fulfilling journey as a volunteer, turning into the catalyst for the career he is now pursuing.

Empowering Female Leadership

March 2021 marked an important moment for the Russia Chevening Association – they launched the Diversity and Inclusion Club.
