Chevening Fellowships in Malaysia
Chevening Fellowships are awarded to talented mid-career professionals who have already demonstrated their capacity to lead and influence. Chevening Fellows are active in their field or subject and are looking to further enhance and expand their knowledge, skills, and expertise by spending time in the UK on a fully-funded short course or research project.
Applications for all fellowships close at 12 GMT (midday UK time) on their advertised deadline.
How to apply
Applications for Chevening Fellowships can be submitted using the Chevening online application system, available through the 'apply' button on this page.
Prior to starting your application for a Chevening Fellowship please ensure you have the following ready:
Essential:
- Two references to be provided in a letter format and written in English
- Valid passport/national ID card
- University transcripts (undergraduate, postgraduate)
Please note that only documents in PDF format can be uploaded and documents cannot be over 5MB in size.
Optional:
- English language (if already met the requirements)
You can submit your initial application without the optional document and upload them to your application at a later date.

What is included?
Each fellowship award includes the following:
- Full programme fees
- Living expenses for the duration of the fellowship
- Return economy flight from Malaysia to the UK

But, the very positive part to this is how beautifully buildings across the UK light up! Of course, the lead up to Christmas is an added bonus for seeing many cities and towns really light up in all sorts of wonderful ways. ‘With kindness, we will change the leadership landscape,’ said Pinky Lilani CBE (Founder, Women of the Future Programme), kicking off the 2018 Women of the Future Summit in London with a call to action.
Twenty five Chevening Scholars were privileged to attend this dynamic event, which aims to connect, inspire, and support the next generation of women in leadership. On the theme of ‘Harnessing the Power of Trust,’ 350 delegates from 44 countries were invited to reflect on the changing nature of trust, and discuss what this means for future models of leadership. Universities Wales is pleased to announce a partnership with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office on the creation of the Chevening Universities Wales Scholarships.
Universities Wales will co-fund up to ten Vietnamese scholars in 2020/2021 and in 2021/2022 to study a one-year taught master’s in any subject at a Welsh university as part of the prestigious Chevening Scholarships programme. Read more
On Saturday, 3 November, Chevening Alumni in East China celebrated 35 years of Chevening with HRH The Duke of York. The exclusive reception was held in Shanghai, where the Duke is leading the UK Delegation for the China International Import Expo (CIIE).
The celebration was a unique opportunity for Chevening Alumni to share their experiences of the UK with the Duke, and to showcase the impact that Chevening has had on their lives and careers. Read more
1,800 Chevening Scholars were formally welcomed to the UK at Chevening Orientation 2018, our inaugural scholarship event held in London on Saturday, 20 October.
