If you haven’t submitted your application yet and are unable to log in, we recommend starting a new application. As we’re a small team, this is the quickest and most efficient option, faster than requesting a manual account reset.

If you have followed our recommendation to prepare your essay answers outside of the system and then paste them into the application form, completing a new application from the beginning should be a straight-forward process.

If you have been invited to interview and can’t login, please email us by replying directly to your interview invitation. It may take a number of working days to complete your manual reset request.

Please note that applicants can only access their application by logging into the online application system during the open application window. Once the application window is closed, it is not possible to access the online application system unless you are invited to interview.

If you do have difficulties logging into your saved application during the final week of the application period and are having trouble resetting your unique access code via the self-service process, we recommend that you re-start your application from the beginning, rather than requesting a manual reset.

If you have followed our recommendation to prepare your essay answers outside of the system and then paste them into the application form, completing a new application from the beginning should be a straight-forward process.

Please note, re-starting a new application using your existing email address may generate a new unique access code and it will automatically delete any previous information that you had submitted.

To ensure that emails we send to you do not end up in these folders, please put our email address, which for application messaging is chevening.awards@notifications.service.gov.uk, on your ‘allow list’.

If you have checked your spam/junk folders and still have can’t see an activation email, please attempt to register again, ensuring you read the registration page carefully. In particular, make sure your email address is spelt correctly, doesn’t contain any spaces or incorrect characters, and is entered into the appropriate field.

If you continue to experience this problem, we would advise you to try a different email address.

Applicants must submit their own original work. You must not use someone else’s work or present content generated by AI tools like ChatGPT as your own. Doing so violates Chevening’s guidelines on plagiarism and fraud.

If your application is found to be fraudulent or copied, it will be disqualified. Chevening uses tools to detect fraud, plagiarism, and AI-generated content in applications.

You will be asked to confirm that you have not used artificial intelligence to generate your answers as part of the application form.
