Chevening Scholar Yaman Islim was born in Syria and came to Durham University this year to start an MSc in Finance and Investment. He’s already completed an Economics degree at Aleppo University in 2012, and an MBA in Istanbul, and hopes that his degree will help him build a better Syria. Read more

Fourteen Chevening Gurukul Fellows arrived at King’s College London to begin an intensive twelve-week leadership course at the India Institute of the iconic central London university. The Chevening Gurukul Fellowship programme is designed to address issues faced by leaders in all fields, by analysing changing ideas and practices of leadership, and exploring implications of globalisation for Indian leaders. Tariq Taha, a Chevening Scholar based at Oxford Brookes University, has been selected to take part as a delegate in the Young Diplomats Forum organised by the Global Diplomatic Forum in London. Tariq will be part of the Jordanian delegation when the event takes place in September, with the ambassador of Jordan, H.E. Mazen Homoud, expected to be present. Read more
