One of the challenges faced by Eastern Caribbean alumni is one of sheer geography. The seven countries within the grouping are hundreds of miles distant from one another with limited and expensive transport options. At a local level, all the islands have their own alumni group, each of which numbers 20–30 members.   Read more

Every year on 8 March women from all walks of life are celebrated on International Women’s Day. It is a day where their achievements, and the contribution they make to society, are recognised and lauded. The theme for 2015 is ‘make it happen’ and Chevening is using this as an opportunity to showcase some of its alumnae who are the personification of that theme. Mrs Delmaude Ryan, Chevening Scholar 2008/2009 was recently sworn in as Montserrat’s new Deputy Premier and Minister of Education, Health & Community Services following the island’s general elections on 11 September. Mrs Ryan’s campaign focused on education, public service leadership, community activism, and volunteerism in Montserrat. Read more
