Chevening Fellowships in Uruguay

Chevening Fellowships are awarded to talented mid-career professionals who have already demonstrated their capacity to lead and influence. Chevening Fellows are active in their field or subject and are looking to further enhance and expand their knowledge, skills, and expertise by spending time in the UK on a fully-funded short course or research project.

Applications for all fellowships listed below close at 12 GMT (midday UK time) on the advertised deadline.

How to apply

Applications for Chevening Fellowships can be submitted using the Chevening online application system, available through the 'apply' button on this page.

Prior to starting your application for a Chevening Fellowship please ensure you have the following ready:

Essential:

  • Two references to be provided in a letter format and written in English
  • Valid passport/national ID card
  • University transcripts (undergraduate, postgraduate)

Please note that only documents in PDF format can be uploaded and documents cannot be over 5MB in size.

Optional:

  • English language (if already met the requirements) 

You can submit your initial application without the optional document and upload them to your application at a later date.

Local news

Our 2015/2016 Chevening Scholars have returned home after spending a year in the UK during which they studied hard, built their networks, and became acquainted with British culture. British Embassies and High Commissions all over the world celebrated their return by throwing welcome home events. It is here that our newest cohort of Chevening Alumni receive their Chevening completion certificates, become inducted into the alumni community at home, and showcase all they learnt in the UK. Global news

As part of the 'Chevening Explores’ series, Cheveners past and present came together in Nottingham to discuss the challenges and opportunities around sustainability. The event, Sense and Sustainability, opened with a welcome speech from Professor Sarah Metcalfe of the University of Nottingham, during which she outlined the university's research priorities and institutional focus on sustainable and resilient cities. She also acknlowledged the value of the Chevening programme for the scholars in attendance. Read more

Chevening officers from across the Middle East and North Africa gathered in Dubai for a three-day regional conference in December 2017, during which they also had the opportunity to meet with Chevening Alumni. Chevening officers are responsible for marketing to applicants, selecting scholars, and engaging with alumni in their respective countries. Regional workshops provide a valuable opportunity for them to receive training, share best practice with one another, and discuss some of the particular opportunities and challenges for Chevening in their region. Chevening Alumna Khongorzul Amarsanaa (Zola) has dedicated her life to eliminating violence against women and children in Mongolia, especially child sexual abuse. Last month, her efforts, as well as those of the many volunteers at Beautiful Hearts Against Sexual Violence (Beautiful Hearts), were recognised at a global awards ceremony in London. Read more
