Jiten Jain

CEO of Indian Infosec Consortium

Jiten is the head of Indian Infosec Consortium, an independent not-for-profit organization of leading ethical hackers, cyber experts and cyber security communities in India. He is also the co-founder of Voyager Infosec, a cyber security startup specializing in anti-piracy technologies. A leading cyber security expert with specialization in geopolitical intelligence analysis and mapping them to cyber conflicts, Jiten is frequently consulted by the Government of India on matters of cyber security and cyber innovations. He is also actively involved in the creation of a cyber security framework for India and makes policy recommendations on a regular basis.

A prominent speaker on national and international cyber security conferences, Jiten is regularly quoted in Indian print and electronic media on global cyber issues. He is also invited by various arms of the Indian government, including its defense forces to train their cyber professionals. Acknowledging his authority on cyber security, Amity University has bestowed upon him the honour of an Honorary Professorship. Jiten is also a visiting faculty at the famed Foreign Service Institute, Ministry of External Affairs. 


Needamangala Srinivasa Nappinai

Founding Partner of Nappinai and Co

N S Nappinai is founding partner of Nappinai and Co, which specialises in constitutional, technology and criminal law. In addition to this, she writes extensively and one of her current projects is writing a book on cyber laws. She actively participates in policy such as preparing the recently introduced Commercial Courts Act.

For her, the opportunity to engage in discussions about international standards in cyber enforcement with like-minded peers motivated her to apply for this fellowship, as well as wanting to apply her background in technology law academically. She also wishes to use her fellowship experience to promote Indo-UK ties upon her return to India.  

Anupam Agrawal

Lead in the Corporate Industry and Forums and Standards Cell at Tata Consultancy Services

Anupam is the Lead in the Corporate Industry and Forums and Standards Cell at Tata Consultancy Services. He is also Co Anchor of Kolkata Chapter of a Data Security Council of India and regularly provide comments and suggestions on IT security issues being debated and discussed nationally, including formulation of cyber security policies that come for industry or public consultation.

Anupam will apply the knowledge and experience gained from the fellowship to his career. Eventually Anupam would like to contribute to IT policy development in India. His time in the UK will also be a valuable opportunity to develop a strong understanding of cyber security. He is also looking forward to working alongside other Chevening Fellows, and undertaking critical analysis comparing and contrasting cyber security policy in the UK and India. 

Chandan Negi

Joint Director in the Integrated Headquarters, India Ministry of Defence

Chandan is an Indian Naval Officer currently posted as Joint Director (CERT) in the Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (MoD), India. He has vast experience across various domains including information and communication technology, information warfare and project management.  

Chandan applied for the fellowships in order to expand his horizons in cyber security and develop his knowledge in this area. He believes the fellowship will enable him to interact with cyber experts from the UK and give him an opportunity to discuss and learn from them on various issues in this field. Furthermore, he is interested in learning the best practices from trainers in the UK who are involved in training civil and military government employees. He would also like to explore the practicality of joint cyber drills for increasing the effectiveness in the those areas of cyber security in which both the UK and India have a common interest. 

Josey George

Practice Head–Security Solutions Engineering

Josey is currently employed in the Cybersecurity & Risk Services Practice of Wipro Technologies where he holds the position of Practice Head –Security Solutions Engineering. He has nearly two decades of experience in the field of information security governance and technology consulting. His Cyber Security experience cuts across areas such as risk & compliance management, security architecture & strategy, identity management, application security, security intelligence & monitoring, ethical hacking, cloud security and mobile forensics. He was a co-author in the CSA (Cloud Security Alliance) led Industry guidance titled ‘Security Guidance for Critical Areas of Focus in Cloud Computing V3’. He has spoken on topics related to cyber security at various international conferences including InfoSec Europe, DSCI, ISACA and Deutsche Welle.

He holds a degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering from the College of Engineering in Guindy, at Chennai, India. He has also completed a two year Executive Post Graduate program in General Management from the Indian Institute of Management at Kozhikode (IIMK). He is pursuing a program in Cyber Law and Cyber Forensics from India's leading law college, the National Law School of India University (NLSIU). 

Prashant Mali

President of Cyber Law Consulting (Advocates and Attorneys)

Prashant's responsibilities include advising on varied cyber policies and law related issues. He has been invited to deliver sessions on Cyber Security, Cyber Law and Forensics, and has appeared on national television and newspapers. He is also in charge of strategy development for his law firm.

Prashant’s extensive background in cyber security motivated him to apply for this fellowship. The programme will be a valuable opportunity to develop his knowledge about a variety of topics, including Cyber Defence and Warfare. He is also looking forward to networking with other professionals with a professional background and interest in cyber security.

Alok Khode

Senior Scientist at CSIR

Alok has over 15 years’ experience in IT. He plays a vital role in design, planning, and implementation in the areas of IT policy, infrastructure management and open access policy. One of his current projects involves leading the “Open Source and Open Innovation Infrastructure” project funded by the Government of India.

Alok’s technical expertise, combined with the knowledge gained from the fellowship on policy and legislative approaches in cyber security, will enable him to better understand and evaluate cyber security threats. It will be a great opportunity for him to elicit support from other scholars and experts in his advocacy for cyber security awareness. In addition, he is looking forward to interacting with Chevening Alumni.
